Sudan Water Supply Engineering Project Commenced

Recently at the Atbara water inlet project site of the Port Sudan Water Supply Engineering Project, Mr. Hassan, Project Manager of Sudan National Water Corporation, delivered the order to commence the project to Mr. Li Yanping, Deputy General Manager of China Ocean Aviation Group Incorporation (COAGI) and Manager of the Port Sudan Water Supply Engineering Project, indicating the official opening of the Port Sudan Water Supply Engineering Project.

The Port Sudan Water Supply Engineering Project includes the construction of a water supply system across the over 470 km of area from the Atbara area of the Nile River to Port Sudan and detailed tasks such as surveying, designing, purchasing, construction and training etc. The project is under an EPC contract between CMEC and Sudan National Water Corporation and all construction tasks will be performed by COAGI.

COAGI, known as one of the few Chinese enterprises with level-1 hydraulic construction qualification, has undertaken the construction of many major national hydraulic projects and thus accumulated construction and management experiences in large engineering projects. COAGI also has under its portfolio an ocean transportation company with several freights and capable of providing inter-continental transportation capacity of over 600,000 tons or 400 containers of cargo.
